High power LED light (able to have batteries replaced, and carry an extra battery), white lens, with signaling capabilities. Strobe versions are available for some lights. Use lithium cells only, due to superior shelf life.
Some survivalists will, no doubt, want to stay as far away from these items as possible, as most of them will over time become useless in a state of complete apocalyptic devastation. being said, for short-term prepping emergencies, at the very least, these items are likely to come in quite handy, especially in our power/electricity driven world of today.
Picking out the best Victoriniox Swiss Army Knife is not at all an easy feat considering just how many options Victorinox gives you, and how many variations of those different there are to choose from. There’s no way I could have mad up a list of the top SAKs on my own, so I …
In my last article on sizing your solar array, I said that if you have a solar array you should use batteries to store your power. This will enable you to run your home, tools and appliances when your solar panels are unable to provide enough power b…
One of the best ways to spend the night is by making a make-shift hammock. Find a couple of trees that have tall trunks for your hammock. Trees that have less foliage are best. Make a hammock as high as you can and climb into it to spend the night. It will protect you from wild animals as well as the creeping and crawling insects.
Picture the scene, you’re stranded in the wild, running out of water and food, and you come across a river you need to pass. A big river. A fast river. Fear not. There may not be an app for that, but there is a Bear Grylls survival tip.
I highly recommend the Biolite stove as an emergency cooking stove. It does not require anything but natural bio fuel such as pine cones, twigs and sticks. There is a battery that recharges while the fire is burning. This battery charges phones, runs a small light via USB port on device. Very useful if there is no way to charge your devices. There are also attachments that provide camp site lighting also recharged by the stove while burning. It is pricey but works like a charm, weight is very little and has a nice grill attachment for cooking meat or veggies. I don’t work for them just have had great experience with this flexible little stove.
Everyone should own a can of Devil Juice Pepper Spray that can drop an attacker from as far as 6 feet away which is important because it’s best to neutralize threats before they enter into close quarter combat.
Sling-Shot-Bow: Oh boy, are some of you guys & gals gonna love this survival weapon. Instead of trying to make one of those tree branch slingshots or a bow & arrow out of some tree sapplings, make one of these weapons instead. This way you can use it to launch both, arrows and rocks. All you need is two (2) 1/2 inch long screw eyelets, some thick rubberbands, a piece of duct tape and a knife. And believe it or not, this sling-shot-bow is hellova lot easier to make, aim, shoot and hit your target than a damn slingshot or bow & arrow. Take a look below and you should be able to figure out how to make this survival weapon. Note: This weapon can be made out of any type of wood, not just bamboo.
As the probability of an individual surviving until age t or later is S(t), by definition, the expected number of survivors at age t out of an initial population of n newborns is n × S(t), assuming the same survival function for all individuals. Thus the expected proportion of survivors is S(t). If the survival of different individuals is independent, the number of survivors at age t has a binomial distribution with parameters n and S(t), and the variance of the proportion of survivors is S(t) × (1-S(t))/n.
Rawles is now a freelance writer, blogger, and survival retreat consultant. One journalist called him a survival guru. He was described as the conscience of survivalism. He is best known as the author of the survivalist novel Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse.
Now, before you say duh, hear me out! It can be difficult to find dry wood if it has been raining for a while. However, you can look for pieces of sticks that are under thick trees, there a good chance that you may find some dry place there.
A pocket-knife is cool, but as my man Crocodile Dundee once said, now this is a knife. And it’s a knife vouched for by our other boy, Bear Grylls. Look, I shouldn’t have to explain the appeal of a knife, not to mention the need for one. Anytime you can call a tool a weapon and vice-versa, you’ve got yourself something worth carrying.
13. For NOAA alerts, use solar energy (or the hand crank) to power the Etón FRX5 Weather Alert radio. A USB port charges your tablet or phone, and an integrated flashlight doubles as an emergency beacon. $130
I believe that human society is like a race. People are born athletes participating in a race, not physical but intellectual. Human life is just like a marathon race. Physical marathon race has a finishing line whereas intellectual marathon race will never end. Instead, human life has a direction or goal, and the goal is called “control…”. In this world, anything other than human is a thing (including animals). The ultimate desire for human is to exercise the greatest possible control over the other human and things around him. Control on human is “power”, and control on things is “wealth”. Power is measured by positions and ranks whereas wealth is measured by money terms. With the control on human comes indirectly some control on things, such as politicians using their power to gain materialistic benefits. Likewise, with the control over things comes indirectly some control over human, such as rich people hiring other people to work for and serve them. Politicians also have direct control over things, such as government-owned enterprises and assets. Nevertheless, this kind of control is not absolute and politicians cannot blatantly take the things under control as their own assets. On the contrary, the assets of a capitalist are entirely privately owned and the capitalist has absolute control over them.
This nasty piece of work was made especially for truckers, but as you can see, it’s also a killer survival tool for anyone out there alone in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. You can do just about anything with this tool that a trucker would need to do to keep his rig on the road regardless of conditions, so it should definitely help you keep your Chevy Lumina moving, especially when the zombies come.
I ordered that item on Dec. 6/16 and have order # 5FR74DEN from Survivallife.com and sent them multiple e-mails which they have answered a few but the 2 they have not bothered. So here they are listed below.

I purchased a credit card knife for a few bucks at http://survivallife.com/credit-card-knife/. I signed up for NOTHING else. Immediately after purchase they give you all of these internet marketing type offers (upsells). I declined all of them. Afterwards I see that I’ve been billed some sort of lamplighter society scam membership. The lamplighter society is some membership type scam.

While there may be no single BEST flashlight, there are certainly plenty of attributes to be considered when selecting your flashlight. Light is of upmost importance in a survival situation, but the ability to see in the dark is something that you should never be far from in any situation. For example, I never go out of town without a […]
I read Mr. Rawles’ Blog (Survival Blog) daily and The Survival Mom about twice a week. I enjoy both of them, have learned a lot and feel more confident about the future no matter what happens. I’ll be viewing the others too. Thank you for the list and the reviews of them.

The world is watching the conflict in the Kashmir region of the India/Pakistan border with bated breath. Not receiving much attention in the mainstream media, is the war breaking out right now on the other side of the globe.
Gregory Mannarino, the founder of TradersChoice.net joined USA Watchdog’s Greg Hunter for an interview. While speaking with Hunter, Mannarino said that the Federal Reserve isn’t losing control of the market, it has already lost control and we are in some very serious financial trouble.
Sooner or later, good weather or bad, your vehicle will get a flat. Then you have to get out the jack and lug wrench to change the tire. The latter tool is what this is about. This is the wrench that came with my truck, which is like the one in most…
Same as EVERYONE else (except the 1 tool that posted a 5 star & probably works there!). I ordered the everstryke match. $ gone, no product. Emailed & called. Empty promises & bullsh!t. This company is a HUGE SCAM. BEWARE!!! BBB gave them an F rating.
Ah – I must’ve missed that part, my apologies. 1 million in SALES is definitely viable, if they are selling/promoting expensive products. Though still to my point, if you are using this website as a proof of concept for your marketing business – as they are – they should be transparent and disclose what operating costs were.

Hellava list, Elise! Way too much for my brain to handle. 🙂 The Mora Companion goes with me in the woods as a neck knife and for finer bushcraft tasks. Though it’s not full tang, mine has taken a lot of abuse and keeps performing admirably. I plan on shaving with it in the bush one day.
