In common words, the goal of human existence is to scramble for power and wealth.  Human society is just a stage for race, or competition. To the losers, competition is very cruel. Competition causes a lot of stress, so not everyone likes competition. If you give up, others, including your parents, will look down on you, and tell you that you are useless. Therefore, every one of us born in this society is forced to take part in the competition. Why is human society a stage for competition? Because human beings have needs. The first need is oxygen, and then the needs for food, water, clothes, housing and transportation are followed. All these things are not free, have limited supply, except oxygen. Nobody can survive without food, water, clothes and house, so, people feel unsafe, and then they desire for all these. This desire is limitless. Even if someone has gathered enough wealth for the rest of his life, he still wants to collect more for his children, even his grandchildren. The result of limited resources plus limitless desires is competition.

A survival kit is a package of basic tools and supplies prepared in advance as an aid to survival in an emergency. Civil and military aircraft, lifeboats, and spacecraft are equipped with survival kits.

Being stranded in your car is one of the most likely survival scenarios you’ll face. Despite the technological advances in new cars, breakdowns are actually becoming more common. Today’s cars have a lot more features than older cars, so more things can go wrong with them. As a prepper, you need to realize that being… Read More

Take a small piece of cloth and shove it in a metal box or a container. Make sure that the container is sealed and throw it in the fire. Let the container burn in the fire for a few minutes. Remove it from fire and let it cool. If you did it right, the cloth inside would be completely black but not burnt. This cloth is called a char cloth. It catches fire with the smallest of sparks!

Location gear/rescue gear. Good array of items there. But bear in mind: gadgets crap out at the most inopportune moment, the sky can become severely overcast, flares can get wet or damaged, and whistles can be lost. All of these are great ideas, and I have mirrors, flares, a beacon, and walkies myself. But there’s one thing I’d add to the list: Hunter Orange or safety vests. Lightweight and compact, never runs out of batteries, highly visible, hard to lose, and needs very little ambient light to be visible. I have an 18″X18″ square of hunter orange with an “X” of reflective stripe sewn on. Imagine a day-glo confederate battle flag, and you likely have the right mental image.

If you find yourself stuck in the wilderness during the winter, do not eat snow unless you fully melt and warm it first! If you eat snow your body temperature will drop and you risk hypothermia or death. An on-the-go method of warming snow is to place it in your water bottle and place that between your jacket and clothing.

One of the easiest plants you can eat are dandelions: You can eat the flower part (it’s yellow). Just pick it off the stem with your fingers. Don’t eat the sap, it’s a white liquid (it’s very bitter). To find more edible plants, check out: https://www.wikihow.com/Find-Wild-Edible-Plants.

The insane have taken over the asylum folks. The geniuses over at the Canada Border Services Agency decided that they weren’t going to let the United Kingdom beat them in the Stupid Olympics and have opted to ban the import of basically all folding knives (if the new law …

This knife is by far one of the best products on this site! It is unbelievably sturdy, and holds an edge once you put it on. The blade is wicked, and the saw blade does its job. ( I built a shelter in 15 minutes with all the saplings I sawed with it). The sheath is heavy duty plastic, and will surpass your expectations. There is not a time when I do not have this thing on me when I’m outdoors. A trusty companion, at truly a remarkable price. If you are reading this review, I urge you to take out your credit card, and add this fine piece of steel to your bugout bag, camping pack, or collection!!

But do you know what all these weapons have in common? To use ’em effectively you have to be a damn good shot. No joke! So you’ll either have to practice your @ss off in using’em until you feel confident enough that you can hit something with’em. Or you can stumble around in the woods trying to spear and shoot up every living thing in sight or until you scare away every living critter in the area.

There are few things you need to be concerned with when selecting a camping tent. First, you’ll need to know how many people you plan on sleeping in it. Second, you’ll need to know how far you plan on packing it in so you can pick the correct weight. You’ll also need to find out whether the tent has a rain fly or not if you plan on camping during the rainy or snowy season.

Kaplan-Meier curves and log-rank tests are most useful when the predictor variable is categorical (e.g., drug vs. placebo), or takes a small number of values (e.g., drug doses 0, 20, 50, and 100 mg/day) that can be treated as categorical. The log-rank test and KM curves don’t work easily with quantitative predictors such gene expression, white blood count, or age. For quantitative predictor variables, an alternative method is Cox proportional hazards regression analysis. Cox PH models work also with categorical predictor variables, which are encoded as {0,1} indicator or dummy variables. The log-rank test is a special case of a Cox PH analysis, and can be performed using Cox PH software.

It’s time to get creative. Familiarize yourself with how to build a lean-to; there are various types of shelters you can build and each has different pros and cons. Obviously you want overhead covering for warmth at night and protection from the elements. If you are in rocky, mountainous terrain, look for overhangs. Otherwise, use limbs and leaves or anything that can provide insulation. Pine needles usually blanket the ground in thick batches, excellent for bedding.
