Another rule that I would suggest to all of you is that you can live without thinking for three seconds! That way, if you’re lost in the woods, all you have to do is turn around until the compass points in the correct direction, and then follow your way back.

In the real world, economic collapse won’t necessarily present itself overnight, and for those who don’t want to live in the woods, being able to transfer large sums of wealth from one country to another is a perfectly viable option. Bear Grylls has made an entire career on showing geeks how to survive in the wild, so if it has his name on it, you can bet that it will save your ass. The fire starter is a ferrocerium rod combined with a metal striker so you can blaze it up, while the Lifestraw Personal Water Filter removes 99.9999% of all waterborne bacteria, which is better than the EPA standard. Dehydration and exposure are two of the deadliest – and most overlooked – things that will getcha in the wild, and these tools make it much easier to deal with both. They also come with an emergency whistle for when you get lost or just want to harass the local wildlife.

If you’re struggling with the whole authority versus niche thing, this post on EmpireFlippers examines both and their pro’s and con’s and there’s a good video from Jill and Josh of ScrewTheNineToFive worth watching.

I understand it’s not the same business model as TIWIB, but the numbers just don’t add up in my head. Even with 270k email subscriptions, you’d have to blasting out promotions every single day, and have incredibly high conversion rates to make 1 million a month. The fact that this website is being used as a proof of concept to their marketing skills just adds to my suspicions.

GA Mom….You said “make sure you have a good seal”….I assume that you’re talking bout the mylar bag prior to sealing the lid ? And you recommend waiting and checking the bag after a day before putting on the lid?
