It’s been used by both backpackers and relief agencies in third world countries alike. It weighs only 2 ounces and is a perfect tool for extreme survival situations like wilderness survival as well as a tool for providing water safe to drink during an evacuation of a widespread disaster. It has a very simple construction with no moving parts — which means less chances of equipment breakdown.

Or maybe it’s in their warehouse and the workers just don’t work but are packaging one shipment a day. Goodluck if you make a purchase from them, I hope you get your item in a reasonable amount of time.

A food dehydrator is essentially an oven. However unlike a conventional oven it’s a low temperature oven. Why do they call it a food dehydrator? Because it’s designed to draw out the moisture from food. To dry it out. Why would you want to dry out your food? Because certain …

If you’ve been a regular reader here at Tactical Intelligence .NET then you’d know the importance I place on adding wilderness survival skills to your “survival portfolio”. Even if you live and exclusively roam around in a purely urban environment, the core principles you come to understand through practicing wilderness survival will translate and apply to an urban setting.

One of the best sites out there related to wilderness survival skills, and number 7 in our list, is Ron Fontaine’s Survival Topics. Instead of just regurgitating things found in survival books, Ron follows a very similar approach that I do in that he practices and talks about things that he tries/uses/experiments with personally.

I think survival means different things to different people. Sure, there is basic survival – will you live or die – but once those basic needs are met, survival can become something entirely different. The survival of your mental wellbeing and happiness can mean the difference between merely surviving and LIVING. I think we all have our unique and individual purpose in life, which is the element that makes life worth surviving. Once you can pinpoint exactly what the purpose is for you, you’ll know how each and every element of your life (your house, your family, your romantic relationships, your career) honor your highest purpose. I like to call this our over-arching goal and it’s our main focus when we design our lives. For example, mine is Happiness Creation. Everything I do in my life supports this goal, and if it doesn’t – I know it’s time for a change. If you need help figuring out what your over-arching goal might be, I’ve written about it more in-depth here: The Science to Designing a Supported & Purposeful Life.
