M.D. I see that you have the book “Gardening in a Failed Economy” as a sponsor. Have you read the book? Is it any good? I don’t mind spending the 15FRNs but rather not buy into some hype publisher that is peddling his latter wares and previously unknown knowledge from the Maya or some other krampf.

the only item i would add to this list would be a decent crossbow. depending on the post SHTF situation it works wonderfully if you dont want to draw attention to your hunting activities. it is quiet and simple to operate and you can make replacement bolts for it from straight sticks if things are really awful. but as with the pellet rifle you want to practice shooting with it long before your situation devolves to life or death as accurite shooting takes practice!

The “important” people who live on the east and west coasts of the USA like to refer to the rest of the country as “flyover country”, because the only time they see it is when they fly over it while traveling from one coast to the other. That…

Our number 6 goes out to Rourke’s Modern Survival Online, which aims to teach and inform the average person about how to prepare for difficult times ahead. They talk about the Digital Marketer blog that they picked the topic because was such a HUGE and popular niche with tons of competition, products, blogs, social media sites, ecommerce sites ETC – makes total sense for an authority site.

Having explained why central banks are so nervous about cryptocurrencies, it seems the rest of the banking sector is finally admitting the real driver behind their disdain for digital currencies – they are competition and an existential threat.

If you’re not already on “team headlamp,” let’s get one thing straight. The headlamp is to an outdoors person as the internet is to shopping. Once you’ve seen firsthand just how easy and effective it is, you’ll wonder how you ever got along without it. Headlamps give you light right where your gaze falls, and they leave both hands free to work. Olympia’s Explorer (EX) Series of headlamps has been designed with outdoor junkies in mind: This series gives us lamps with great features that don’t cost a fortune. This tough aluminum body headlamp casts out a scorching 550 lumens, and it’s perfect for chasing down a blood trail after dark, cooking in camp, or working under the hood of your truck. The Cree XM-L LED bulb delivers a beam of light that can reach out 135 meters, and it has five lighting modes, including a distress strobe. It’s even waterproof down to one meter.

Why do we call it the ‘Survival Guide’? We’ve heard too many artists say they aren’t business-minded, yet understanding that you are a business is necessary to thrive in this industry. To thrive, you need to know how to survive in unfamiliar territory. Let’s admit, ‘being an artist’ and ‘savvy business’ are not strong associations. But it doesn’t have to be that way. We want to unpack all that it takes to create a solid business foundation, so we have created this workshop to give you the tools to not just survive, but thrive. A long while back, close to when we originally started penning this blog, I published an article about the most popular/best selling survival books in existence. While I know there will be plenty of overlap (what kind of a survival book list w…

Ive been getting my food preps from http://www.515survival.com. they have pretty good prices on most stuff, and free shipping if you buy a certain amount. cant remember the exact amount off the top of my head. Hopefully it will help someone.

They need to figure out a better plan to get things out and to their customers. This is going to cost them their business if they don’t do something different than their current shipping. Or maybe it’s in their warehouse and the workers just don’t work but are packaging one shipment a day. Goodluck if you make a purchase from them, I hope you get your item in a reasonable amount of time.

Not sure if I got this link from your site a while back or not. But, if not, this is a very useful disk. 12 bucks. The whole library of manuals published by the military. http://www.muddywaterpress.com/cd.html

Reaching for a multi-tool is as easy as simply finding one with pliers, and a Phillips screw driver, right? Actually that’s wrong. A Phillips screw driver might come in handy on several occasions but there are a lot more screw head types that call for special fittings. These special fittings can quickly take parts off vehicles, remove hardware around locking mechanisms, and remove ventilation coverings. A good multi-tool is essential to urban survival, is made of stainless steel, and can withstand years’ of use. If you’re going to be anywhere near an urban environment, look, at the Swiss Tool Spirit Plus. Here’s a multi-tool with 38 functions, including a bit wrench with 6 bits (important for screw heads that a Phillips or standard screwdriver will not fit).

Is there no point going into the niche if you have competition from everyone buying that WSO and SurvivalLife who you can never really compete with. Probably even if you had the budget, which I def. don’t. I merely have enough to get a site up and buy that WSO but if that’s a waste then I’m scared.

An elderly man is suing two federal government agencies for Constitutional rights violations. The rancher claims that both agencies trespassed on his property and installed cameras on his trees without his permission – but the icing on the cake was when they threatened to arrest him.

Self-defense is a fundamental human right. I’m not willing to relinquish that right, no matter how many tragedies occur in this crazy world. No many how many wicked or insane persons use guns to do evil, I will assert my … Continue reading →

One final thought to consider are the side effects. The toxicity and flavor of iodine can be a little problematic. The iodine tablets are generally not a good choice for pregnant women, anyone with thyroid issues, or shellfish allergies. Picky children are also notorious for failing to drink iodine-infused water, which could lead to dehydration and other serious repercussions in an already dicey emergency. The Katadyn product is chlorine-based, the flavor of which dissipates over the allotted 4-hour waiting period. That product is widely tolerated and tastes much better.

If you start hearing strange voices, noises or even banjo music, it is vital to control your emotions. The USAF Survival Manual stresses, “A survivor’s psychological state greatly influences their ability to successfully return from a survival situation.”

Ensure that your survival kit is up-to-date. Many items of your survival kits have an expiration date. Glow sticks and water purifying tablets go bad after a few years. Check the expiration dates of these items before you head out for your big expedition.

Blisters can be a literal pain, and they happen a lot when you’re out in the wilderness. If you have a blister, take a needle and a string and poke a hole between two opposite ends of the blister. This will drain the water out and allow the blister to heal faster. If you think you’re about to get a blister, use duct tape to cover the area. This will prevent the blister from forming in the first place because it minimizes friction.

Most can see that YouTube is scrubbing videos and deleting accounts that don’t tow the line and parrot the mainstream media and government’s official timeline of events for things. And it’s getting worse by the day, it seems.

Keep your fire contained! Ensure that there is no combustible material near your fireplace and enclose it completely with rocks or a berm made of sand. Put your fire out with copious amounts of water: saturate it, so that there is no possibility of even the tiniest spark remaining. You should be able to touch the extinguished coals with your bare hand. It’s one thing to be lost in the woods, but quite another to be lost and surrounded by a forest fire caused by your own negligence.

  1. Please please please tell someone where you are going before you set off for a trip. No matter where you go, even if you end up stranded unexpectedly, you started from somewhere in civilization. Tell close friends and family where you are going and if you have a specific route or amount of time you will be gone.
Satellite Messaging: Sending text messages via satellite phone has gotten affordable. DeLorme’s new inReach SE, a satellite-based GPS communicator, costs $300 and, for $50 a month, offers unlimited texting from almost anywhere on the planet.
Banangrams! I hate playing that game with my (English teacher) daughter! I get stressed out playing games with time limits, or with “experts” who know the game much better than I do. I guess it’s partly my competitiveness and partly post-traumatic stress that I’ve been dealing with. I don’t mind Clue, even though I’m not good at it, but Monopoly is “bad” for me.
