In arctic or alpine areas, survival kits may have additional cold weather clothing (winter hats and gloves), sleeping bags, chemical hand warmer packets, sun glasses/snow goggles, snowshoes, a collapsible shovel, a snare wire for small animals, a frying pan, a camp stove, camp stove fuel, a space blanket, matches, a whistle, a compass, tinder, medical equipment, a flint strike, a wire saw, extra socks and a tent designed for arctic use.

We here at the Survival Frog Survival Blog are striving to bring you the most relevant and practical information on the web. We hope you will find the information we provide useful and practical in your preparations.

Similarly, you can survive about three weeks without food. Again, that does not mean that you will be up and about throughout the three weeks. It just means that you can ‘survive’ and not die if you don’t eat food for three weeks.

Once you get a fire going, it is important to make provisions for the next one. You must make sure that the next fire that you start does not require the amount of work that was needed to start the first one. There are a couple of things that you can do to achieve it.

Fishing hooks and a good quantity of fishing line. Coil it up and stow in a pocket. The hooks are good if you want to fish, but can come in handy for other purposes, too, and weigh almost nothing. Stick them and the wire into your wallet and put it in your back pocket.

Rawles is a strong proponent of Citizen Journalism. In April 2014, along with his son Robert, Rawles co-founded The Constitution First Amendment Press Association (CFAPA),[75] a private free press advocacy group that distributes press credentials to any literate adult U.S. Citizen, free of charge.[76][77]

If you encounter snakes, leave them alone. Snakes bite because they are hungry or because they are threatened. We are too big to be seen as prey to most snakes; they do not regard humans as food. Stand still and the snake will go away. Attack it and it will retaliate. If one curls up in your kit, move it out with a long stick and gently prod it away. If it comes in your direction, stand still. It doesn’t know that you are causing its discomfort and if you do not jump around, it will probably not even notice you. However, if you kill the snake you can enjoy eating it. Since you probably don’t know if it’s venomous or not, a good rule is to cut off the head, and then cut the same distance back from that point down the body. This will remove the poison glands, if there are any.

The world is watching the conflict in the Kashmir region of the India/Pakistan border with bated breath.  Not receiving much attention in the mainstream media, is the war breaking out right now on the other side of the globe.

A commercial option for people who choose to take the minimalist route is the Pocket Survival Pak from Survive Outdoors Longer (SOL). Word has gotten around Amity. Casey Stoner is a prepper. Pretty much the whole island now knows that Casey has gathered up a mess of resources to use in just such a SHTF situation as they now face. All his … Continue reading →

The second day will focus on understanding the commercial industry, how it is changing, and how you fit into it. We want you to think critically about your style, and identify what makes your art undeniably you, so that you stand out amongst the throngs of other artists in this industry. And we will discuss real world numbers for how to bid on those projects that come your way. Some of the finer details will be:

Option one: Embrace it. Listen to the song all the way through, at full volume, ideally singing along. The idea is that by confronting your brain with the full
version, your earworm will end when the song does.

Survival Throwing Star-Knife: Here’s one for all you knife freaks & gurus. Ok, I know they make those metal throwing stars, but this baby can be used in multiple ways in a survival situation. As an individual hunting & throwing knive, a throwing star and as a spear head when attached to a stick for hunting game or spearing fish. To make one of these all you have to do is buy a set of those cheapo metal throwing knives, drill a few holes, make a few groves on the handle(s) so when you go to wrap some paracord around it to attach it to a stick it will hold it in place and not slide off. And then add four (4) screws, washers and wing nuts to keep it together until you need to use it.

Multi-tools are nice, but sometimes a single dedicated tool can be necessary, especially for harder jobs. This survival hatchet by our boy Bear Grylls is just such a tool. Whether you’re chopping trees to build yourself a shelter or just need something to fight off whatever monsters live in the woods, this will save your life.

Good list and perfect because there is everything from doctoring yourself to fighting for yourself and even growing food for yourself. When it comes to covering every aspect, you have done it right, M.D.!

When choosing a blanket (a light, thin sheet of extremely reflective Mylar), spend a little extra to buy a larger, more durable model. A space blanket can be used to block wind and water, wrapped around the body prevent/counteract hypothermia, or even placed behind you to reflect a fire’s heat onto your back, but none of this is useful if the blanket is too small or tears the moment you unwrap it.

This to me seemed to explain-  one, why members of several species just die after laying eggs or after mating. In some species such as ‘the preying mantis’, the female eats the head of the male once it finishes mating or rather once she is sure that the male has ‘fulfilled its purpose’. Second, when we see the life of certain kinds such as the dinosaurs or others which have become extinct, what can we consider their purpose as? I’d say they were just experiments of nature in the process to manufacture ‘fitter’ beings (evolution) capable of surviving its whims. Again- modify DNA to increase its chances of survival.

  1. With periodic malfunctions in several store-bought compasses, including polarity issues, you want a compass you can count on. Learn proper care for a compass and how to protect polarity, as well as how it’s actually used in the field. Navigation is an essential survival skill; along with fire and water procurement and shelter building, navigating with a compass is a skill taught in Special Forces survival training as well as local survival schools in most areas.
They obviously sell things they don’t even have in stock, or maybe that how they buy their stock; you buy from them and then they order from someone else? That would explain a lot of this crap, but someone needs to be held accountable for this. It shouldn’t be a hit or miss on getting an item you have already paid for in a reasonable amount of time. Three weeks should be the latest you get anything through the mail, and that’s if it is shipped from China, not 3 states over. It’s a 12-hour drive from my home in Alabama to Austin, Texas. I know for a fact because I used to make that drive when I was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and had to drive through Austin, which was about 45 minutes away to get there.
