Well, it wasn’t long before I found out the hard way that I needed to pack & carry several extra sets of slingshot bands. Why? Because when one you can’t repair’em by tying the two broken ends together, you have to replace the whole damn band. And if you don’t have a backup latex slingshot band, you’re screwed. That sucks!

In addition to relying on lifeboat survival kits, many mariners will assemble a ditch bag or abandon ship bag containing additional survival supplies. Lifeboat survival kit items typically include:
