I am sure you must have seen some of those utility bracelets advertised everywhere. These bracelets are made from the same materials that military uses in their gear. The bracelet itself is made from paracord that you can unravel to make an adamant thread to tie stuff up.
I described this workshop to my friends as an all-inclusive no-holds-barred immersive business of photography (but applicable to any creative professional) tell-all expose, that also happens to be put on by the coolest photography team on the planet. And you’ll also leave the weekend with 17 rad new friends and a belly full of amazing food and (regardless of the city you are in) the best ice cream around.

It’s small and lightweight. It’s a great addition to her go bags we bought a second for my who is a teenager. I may end up getting one for myself.

The coming change of seasons from winter to spring has brought to mind two “fevers” that preppers need to be aware of and make plans for. While not actual, physical fevers caused by disease, the effects of “cabin fever” and “spring fever”…
For extremely cold weather conditions, we highly recommend having a durable pair of gloves to fight off frostbite from turning your fingers into ice cubes. We put together a guide for you: Best Cold Weather Gloves.
Besides the wind, water is the next major vulnerability of stick matches. But neither wind nor water are a match (pun intended) for these amazing matches. I routinely display UCO Stormproof matches to my survival students, striking the large matches and then dunking the burning match in a bowl of water. To the surprise of my onlookers, the match bursts into flame again after being lifted from the water. These matches come in a bomb-proof watertight container with replacement striker strips and even a bit of cotton to keep the matches from rattling around, and to serve as emergency tinder.
by Bill H I was recently at a gun show and a dealer friend of mine had a couple of Smith and Wesson Model 10 revolvers. He also had a couple of the Taurus copies of the same gun. Prices were under … Continue Reading about Fall In Love With The Smith and Wesson Model 10

The survival function must be non-increasing: S(u) ≤ S(t) if u ≥ t. This property follows directly because T>u implies T>t. This reflects the notion that survival to a later age is only possible if all younger ages are attained. Given this property, the lifetime distribution function and event density (F and f below) are well-defined.

So what if you don’t know how to fish, or don’t have any gear? All you need is a shirt and enough saliva to spit. Spit fishing is a quick way to catch minnows and small fish, which can then either be cooked up into a crunchy goulash or used as bait to catch bigger fish. All you do is wade out into the water, lift the front of your shirt to improvise a net under the water’s surface, and spit. Minnows are attracted to the spit—they think it’s food—and when they’re clustered in front of you, jerk your shirt up out of the water.
Most people can go five days without adequate sleep before damage sets in, according to the USAF Manual. Sleep whenever possible, taking catnaps here and there. Sleep deprivation stunts healing and clouds judgment.
In subsequent chapters, the book describes weapons and combat techniques, places of safety, and how to survive a zombie-infested world. In the section describing weapons, Brooks writes about the human body: If cared for and trained properly, is the greatest weapon on earth. The guide concludes with a fictional list of documented zombie encounters throughout history. The oldest entry is 60,000 BC, in Katanda, Central Africa, although the author expresses doubt about its validity. Instead, he presents evidence from 3,000 B.C. in Ancient Egypt as first verifiable instance of a zombie outbreak. The most recent entry is 2002, in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Some of these encounters make reference to historical events, such as Roanoke Island.
The Credit Card Knife is perhaps Survival Life’s biggest namesake. This small knife starts out about the same size and weight as a traditional credit card, but unfolds in seconds into a fully functional knife. It features a surgical steel blade, protective hand guard, and even a built-in safety sheath to keep it from becoming dull, and from accidentally opening in your pocket or pack.

Bear notes that charge is a particular problem in extreme colds, where batteries struggle to last as well as in the heat. He recommends putting your mobile in your armpit to warm it up and bring the battery back to life, assuming there is still charge left, and also making sure your phone is waterproofed, whether in casing or even a sandwich bag.
His first novel was a work of speculative fiction set in a near future including hyperinflation and socioeconomic collapse. Initially titled: Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse, and later re-titled: Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse. The book was originally released in draft form as shareware under the title Triple Ought in the early 1990s. It was released in a printed edition by Huntington House. After Huntington House went out of business, the book was re-released by Xlibris, a print on demand publisher. Starting in April 2009, the novel was published in a paperback edition by Ulysses Press. It was updated to include a glossary[self-published source] and index.
If a subject’s lifetime is known to be less than a certain duration, the lifetime is said to be left-censored. Left censoring is usually applied when subjects in a study already have exhibited the event in question at the start of the study but information about when they first reached the event is unclear.
Great sites indeed. I must have been on all of them in the past year. I’m more interested in the alternative energy area…rather than prepping. But you are right…I found a lot of great articles. Mac Slavo is my all time favorite though.
The carbon sheets that you can get from saws have been proven to be able to withstand 22 calibre pistol bullets. With just a bit of duct tape and some proper attachment, you can create armour around your backpack and clothes that will protect you from shrapnel, arrows, and certain types of bullets. They’re bendable, snap proof, and pretty darn useful. There is a caveat though, Carbon steel will rust and is not stainless steel.
