If you’re a prepper, first aid books are a must-have, and general survival books are a very good idea. If you’re concentrating on wilderness survival, it would be beneficial to keep a few good foraging and plant biology books on you, ones that will let you know what’s edible in your region and what’s not: because you definitely don’t want to be nibbling on poison plants you thought were fine to eat in a survival/SHTF situation.

• Put it together: Using a larger piece of wood as a wind block, create a nest out of the tinder. Create a tipi out of smaller kindling so oxygen can get in. Ignite the tinder and place under the tepee. Use long, steady breaths to spread the flame. As the smaller pieces catch, add progressively larger fuel to the fire.

We generally encounter right-censored data. Left-censored data can occur when a person’s survival time becomes incomplete on the left side of the follow-up period for the person. For example, in epidemiological example, we may monitor a patient for an infectious disorder starting from the time when he or she is tested positive for the infection. Although we may know the right-hand side of the duration of interest, we may never know the exact time of exposure to the infectious agent.[5]

Tips: Bring along an extra stuff sack, like you’d carry a sleeping bag in, and use it to carry your tarp shelter when it’s time to break camp and move to a new location. Roll up your tarp and then cinch it tight with paracord or rope. Have a few stakes with you to use as ground anchors for your tent.

This to me seemed to explain-  one, why members of several species just die after laying eggs or after mating. In some species such as ‘the preying mantis’, the female eats the head of the male once it finishes mating or rather once she is sure that the male has ‘fulfilled its purpose’. Second, when we see the life of certain kinds such as the dinosaurs or others which have become extinct, what can we consider their purpose as? I’d say they were just experiments of nature in the process to manufacture ‘fitter’ beings (evolution) capable of surviving its whims. Again- modify DNA to increase its chances of survival.

The North Star always points to true north, which is great for when you don’t have a compass at night or when you want to check the accuracy of the compass you have. Try looking for the big dipper first, which is easy to find if you know your constellations. Then draw an imaginary straight line through the edges of the big dipper and this will lead you to the tail of the little dipper. This is the North Star.

Many generators can be bought to run on Diesel, and LPG, and Propane. While others have yet other flex fuel capabilities. Do your Research. The brand and its capabilities. The typical generator package has a motor, a generator and an electrical panel. The motor can be gas. It can be Diesel… steam etc. The generator part is nearly an electrical that is motor spun. Forgetting the electrical mumbo jumbo and setting it aside. The generator part is not really a high tech part. That said, it is better to get a generator that is designed for just that purpose. (Unless you are an Electrical Engineer of note do not DIY this) The electrical sensors and panel, and parts are where the electrical design engineer gets his say. And earns his pay… or not?

Right now, conservatives have enough political power to prevent any substantial new gun control measures at the federal level. But liberal States, especially California, have been piling on the restrictions, working toward a complete ban as their true thinly-veiled goal. … Continue reading →

Tampons are very effective in dealing with deep wounds because they were designed to absorb lots of moisture. They also gradually take the shape of the wound as they swell over time. You can bring lots of them because they’re small, lightweight, can be bought almost anywhere, and are pretty inexpensive.

This problem is uniquely Prepper. We tend to store all kinds of stuff, including food, water, equipment, bartering items, guns, ammo, and much more. Where do you keep it all? Do you have one big space for everything, or divide … Continue reading →

So, you found some waterbody in the wild and collected some water. You even boiled the water to make it safe to drink. But when you try to drink it, it has a horrible smell or unpleasant taste. It is a common scenario faced by many survivalists.

Coconut water contains vital nutrients and sugar that can keep you fed and alive for long. If you can find coconut trees, make sure that you use the water as food. However, remember that if you drink too much coconut water, it can give you the runs! In that case, just eat some powdered charcoal. It can help you ease your stomach woes.

What emerges are life-altering and, in some cases, lifesaving epiphanies—existential prescriptions for living with integrity, courage, and authenticity in an increasingly chaotic, uncertain, and inauthentic age.

Planning to take a relaxing boat ride soon? For the sake of safety, let’s just say things go sideways and the engine stalls in the middle of a freak ocean storm. Would you be able to survive? I am sorry to say this but your tent is worthless. A true survivalist would have a 4 season tent. One used on expeditions to alaska or antartic summer. You have to survivor a winter in Minnisota, Michigan, Maine or other very cold area. Most tents bought at stores like walmart will only last one or two years of constant use. So unless you have put out big bucks for a UV protected tent and stove heater, your dead in winter.

They easily catch fire and can therefore be used as an easy to find ingredient to starting fires because the can be found practically everywhere.
