Many generators can be bought to run on Diesel, and LPG, and Propane. While others have yet other flex fuel capabilities. Do your Research. The brand and its capabilities. The typical generator package has a motor, a generator and an electrical panel. The motor can be gas. It can be Diesel… steam etc. The generator part is nearly an electrical that is motor spun. Forgetting the electrical mumbo jumbo and setting it aside. The generator part is not really a high tech part. That said, it is better to get a generator that is designed for just that purpose. (Unless you are an Electrical Engineer of note do not DIY this) The electrical sensors and panel, and parts are where the electrical design engineer gets his say. And earns his pay… or not?

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, has come out saying that the United States is on a collision course with mass chaos and civil unrest. History has proven that there’s only so much oppression human beings can stand before they cease complying with those who seek to control them.

Either Constitutional Law will be reestablished in America, and the treasonous cabal of Deep State minions are tried and convicted for their crimes –  or –  Trump and company turns out to be a minor speedbump on the final stretch towards the Ne…

Please, please please contact your State and Federal legislators, frequently. Don’t give up on this legislative fight, or our rights will get trampled.  Tell your representatives that they MUST oppose any new gun laws.  And remember:  the phrase “universal background checks” is just statist code for a “ban on private party sales.” This sort of unconstitutional law would destroy the privacy of our gun purchases, paving the way for nationwide registration. Don’t fall for it!

We are starting this weekend off with a private catered dinner and time to mingle. Keep a pocket knife, or multi-tool with you at all times, because you never know when you will need it- and when you do need it, you will rejoice that you have something to cut, protect and prepare food- even if all you have is a crappy, little knife. Now just learn how to sharpen it like MacGuyver.

Don’t be afraid to eat insects and other bugs. While it may be disgusting to eat a few grasshoppers, they do provide useful nutrition. All insects should be cooked as they can harbor parasites that can kill you. Do not eat any caterpillars, brightly colored insects, or any insect that can bite or sting you. Remove the legs, head and wings of any insect before eating.

I described this workshop to my friends as an all-inclusive no-holds-barred immersive business of photography (but applicable to any creative professional) tell-all expose, that also happens to be put on by the coolest photography team on the planet. And you’ll also leave the weekend with 17 rad new friends and a belly full of amazing food and (regardless of the city you are in) the best ice cream around.

Sooner or later, good weather or bad, your vehicle will get a flat. Then you have to get out the jack and lug wrench to change the tire. The latter tool is what this is about. This is the wrench that came with my truck, which is like the one in most…

Use urine of females to attract prey: The urine of female animals can be used to attract males for hunting. Although finding female urine may be difficult, but if you hunt a female, you can store the urine.

How many of you have a flashlight on your keychain? I can’t tell you exactly how many times that I’ve used my own keychain flashlight (lots!). Having a flashlight at home is one thing, however most don’t have one on their person when they’re away from home. Sure, some of …

Throughout our lives we use acronyms to learn and remember a variety of things. From NASA to AWOL to SEALs, we certainly do love our acronyms. When it comes to survival there’s a wealth of acronyms to help you be as prepared as possible. Take, for example, PACE. Typically pace is a word that’s more at home in the realm of car racing or running, but in the survival world, PACE is a way of making sure you’re ready for whatever the world has to throw at you. This can be a bug-out plan, a get-home plan, or a home-defense plan. Whatever type of prepping or survival plan you’re thinking o… Continue Reading →

I read SurvivalBlog daily and SHTFPlan occasionally. along with a few others. Your list turned me on to yet others of which I had previously been unaware. Thank you for that. With all this good info available, one could spend their entire waking hours reading prepping sites and gathering information. So here’s my question: If you spend all your time reading about prepping, when do you find time to actually do anything?

When choosing a space blanket (a light, thin sheet of extremely reflective Mylar), spend a little extra to buy a larger, more durable model. A space blanket can be used to block wind and water, wrapped around the body prevent/counteract hypothermia, or even placed behind you to reflect a fire’s heat onto your back, but none of this is useful if the blanket is too small or tears the moment you unwrap it.

Bear notes that charge is a particular problem in extreme colds, where batteries struggle to last as well as in the heat. He recommends putting your mobile in your armpit to warm it up and bring the battery back to life, assuming there is still charge left, and also making sure your phone is waterproofed, whether in casing or even a sandwich bag.

Survival Frog Survival Blog writers are real folks who live what they write about, not some content mill somewhere that churns out rich blather intended to get search results, but providing little in the way of practical knowledge. We try to avoid theoretical knowledge whenever possible, and give you what we know works for us. When you read one of our posts, you can expect that the information has been applied in the real world before it was ever written down, and you can feel confident when you pass the information on to others.
