Rawles has lived in San Jose, California; near Orofino, Idaho; near Smartsville (formerly Smartville, California); in Fremont, California; and near New Washoe City, Nevada. An article published by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 2008 incorrectly asserted that Rawles lived in California, but later in that article, Rawles noted that the location of his ranch in the United States is kept secret. We don’t actually reveal our location, even at the state level. All that I’m allowed to say is that we’re somewhere west of the Rockies. We intentionally keep a very low profile. We just don’t want a lot of people camping out on our doorstep the day after everything hits the fan. The German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung asserts that the ranch is in northern Idaho. Others have claimed that the undisclosed location of the ranch is in Nevada, Utah, Wyoming or even in Central America. His mailing forwarding address is in Newcastle, Wyoming. A CNN Europe article written before his first wife died noted that Rawles …lives on a ranch in an undisclosed location with his wife (who he refers to in his blog affectionately as ‘the Memsahib’) and their children. Their life is almost entirely self-sufficient: They keep livestock, hunt elk and the children are schooled at home. Stored away in the ranch somewhere is a three-year supply of food. In an article titled The Most Dangerous Novel in America, Rawles told The Daily Beast: I’m not at liberty to discuss where I live. It’s part of an agreement I made with my wife. I really can’t go into the details. We live in a very remote area. I embrace technology. We don’t live in a cellphone area, but I’m online constantly. We’re just prepared to live off-grid, if the power grid goes down. Because of the nature of my blog and my novel, I don’t just want anonymity, I need anonymity. I could wake up some morning in the aftermath of some crisis and look out in my barnyard and see five Winnebagos and some television news crews. I don’t want fans of my books to descend on my property, so I have to be perspicacious. In 2009, Rawles told an Agence France-Presse reporter: I’m surrounded by national forest. A river runs through the back end of the property, so there’s no shortage of water and no shortage of fish or game to shoot. If Western civilization were to collapse tomorrow, I’d have to read about it on the Internet. I just wouldn’t notice. His U.S. mail address is a post office box in Newcastle, Wyoming, but his main web site server is in Sweden. On an appearance on a September 2013 radio show, he indicated in conversation that he was located in the inland Northwest.

Take any small piece of cloth and place it inside a metal container. Make sure that the container has a cover. Burn the container (with the cloth inside it) for a couple of minutes. You know you’re doing it right if the cloth remains intact but is dark from all the burning. Char cloth is really great for starting fires because it catches fire with just a small spark. Tip: Try cutting or ripping a large cloth into really small pieces and neatly roll them inside a tuna can. You’ll have yourself an entire pack of char cloth!
First you’ll need to find water. Water flows downhill, encourages vegetation, and collects in natural caches, be they lakes, rivers, springs, rock depressions, or even leaves. Unfortunately, most fresh water sources are not pure enough to drink from (as they used to be), so you’ll need to know how to purify water under most situations. Use any of these methods to collect clean, purified water:

As an United States citizen surviving in the modern era of propaganda, possessing the contextual knowledge of any situation, whether it be at the voting booth, in class, or church, or rebuilding after a collapse, places that citizen in an advantageous position. Thus, it is imperative for all citizens to have a knowledge of history and varied methodologies of propaganda.
Those who get offended by you promoting something even though you’re giving them a ton of value upfront and for ‘free’ (it’s not really ‘free’ to create content, takes up a lot of time, effort and sometimes money) are probably not the sort of people you want as your audience anyway.
Assuming that you have already begun a fire successfully, the next step is to let the potential rescuers know your position. If the woods are thick, it can become impossible to see through the canopy even if the search party is looking for you from a helicopter. To let them know where you are, you need some signal.
So you’re stuck in an icy wasteland and you need a way to stay warm. Maybe the weather on your camping trip took a turn for the worst; maybe your plane crashed and you’re being methodically hunted by a pack of wolves; maybe you live in Detroit—but regardless of the predicament, what you need is a fire. Fortunately, the very thing that’s killing you can save your life: ice.
In my version of BACK-UP power there are no sacred Cows. Of import is, where your power system will be used/installed. In the City, or suburbs these would require permits and skilled/knowledgable installers. While a system in a Farming Ranching setting might require other priorities. And lastly a remote installation. (Getting the stuff to the site might be difficult). Weight these criteria for each situation. Do not let someone talk you into a ONE-SIZE-FITS ALL.

Housing prices in the United States continue to rise at unprecedented rates forcing many into poverty. This worsening epidemic is explained well in a video by The Money GPS and it’s been engineered this way.
Sometimes we forget how easy we have it. Amid our crazy life schedules we tend to take for granted that purified bottle of water when thirsty, or the push of a button to light a fire. But it’s important to remember that in the blink of an eye, it can all be gone. The unexpected happens, you get in an accident or lose your way; now, it’s just you and the wilderness with no ties to civilization. Here are ten basic survival tips to get you prepared- just in case.
Foolishly I bought a tactical pen on line from this company some three months ago. they duly debited my PayPal account but the item never arrived. To make matters worse the company through their agent CLICKBANK continue to debit my PP account on a monthly basis. This…
Looking for a “no-cook,” “no-fuss” survival food with a long life and reasonable taste? The UST 5-Year Emergency Food Ration Bar may be just the thing. I love shortbread cookies, and these remind me of apple cinnamon oatmeal and shortbread combined. Each pack has 2,400 calories in total, which can be broken into six 400-calorie cubes for rationing purposes. These are perfect for a survival kit stashed in your car or at work, and a good fit for the outdoors, too. If you’re not a shortbread fan, these crumbly cakes might not be your favorite, but they are packed with vitamins and minerals. Bon appétit!

Following a collapse, expect a lot of people in outlying towns to significantly increase the hunting pressure in adjacent wilderness areas within the first few days. That means much of the local wildlife is likely to flee for more remote areas due to this sudden increase in hunting pressure. Study your maps and consider starting your wilderness journey in a remote area less likely to have any human activity — which means you may have to go several more miles than you may have initially considered. But the payoff for traveling a few extra miles to start your push into the wilderness will likely be worth it — hunting is likely to be best in remote areas with little or no human activity.
An ice lens captures the sun’s light and focuses it onto one point, just like a magnifying glass. If that focal point gets hot enough, and if it’s focused on something dry and flammable, you get a flame. It’s such a simple concept, but put to work in a genius way. To form an ice lens, basically you take a chunk of ice and twist it around on the edge of a pipe. The circular pipe edge carves away the chunks and irregularities, and eventually you end up with a perfect ice sphere, which is essentially a rustic kind of Fresnel lens.
I ordered the free knife knowing going in that is was just a lure to get you to buy something else. When I saw the offer for a second free knife, I knew that is was a catch. If you bother to read anything else, it tells you that you are also going to be in their club and there was a monthly fee. I clicked on no thanks and got my free knife with no problems, and it is good for what it is.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company’s size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm’s responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
Tips: Bring along an extra stuff sack, like you’d carry a sleeping bag in, and use it to carry your tarp shelter when it’s time to break camp and move to a new location. Roll up your tarp and then cinch it tight with paracord or rope. Have a few stakes with you to use as ground anchors for your tent.
Survival analysis is a branch of statistics for analyzing the expected duration of time until one or more events happen, such as death in biological organisms and failure in mechanical systems. This topic is called reliability theory or reliability analysis in engineering, duration analysis or duration modelling in economics, and event history analysis in sociology. Survival analysis attempts to answer questions such as: what is the proportion of a population which will survive past a certain time? Of those that survive, at what rate will they die or fail? Can multiple causes of death or failure be taken into account? How do particular circumstances or characteristics increase or decrease the probability of survival?
A Great Man (one of my personal hero’s) has passed from this life to the other side. This world is a better place because of him and his legacy. May all people aspire to live such a life. https://memorial.billygraham.org/…
