I am also quite pleased to see that the Citizens of the eastern half of Washington are making progress in constitutionally partitioning to become the State of Liberty. (A state boundary hasn’t been officially redrawn in the United States since West Virginia was Constitutionally partitioned from Virginia back in 1863. But the Liberty State movement is proceeding apace.) I hope that a similar effort gains steam, to partition eastern Oregon.

I recieved the very first order I placed there, which was a less than $3 transaction for the Hybeam Micro and I had it within 2 weeks. I’ve also ordered the Hybeam Mini, Hybeam Poplamp, Hoffman Richter Reaper, and ordered them all within 3 days of September the 25th, 26th, and 27th. Well now it’s October 22nd, and I haven’t received any of those items. I ordered the Hoffman Richter EDC tool and received it within 2 weeks also, but this was also about a $5-$6 purchase.

The rope is a critical resource in the wild. It is essential to tie things, to make shelter and even in hunting. You can make a robust and sturdy rope from the skins of willow branches. Here is how you can make willow ropes.

To trim a survival kit down to its top 10 essentials is to reveal the utmost necessary items for ad hoc shelter, warmth, communication, navigation, and sustenance in the deep backwoods. Here, then, are three survivalists’ lean lists of gear you should not be without in any wilderness situation.

– Mora knives are spectacular – look at them, in the event that you can’t find one, check out a local bait/tackle shop, chances are there is a knife just like it there – same sheath and all (I just found this out after owning a tom of Moras, and the steel is just as good, with a slightly thicker blade..)

Prepping is only for conservative, rural, gun-toting survivalists, right? Like John Goodman in the movie Cloverfield Lane, with an underground bunker stocked with freeze-dried food, a ventilation system, and a huge metal door to keep out both kinds of aliens. Everyone knows that liberals are weak and hate violence, and only exist so that strong

On firemaking you covered several useful items. Here’s an idea on the magnifying glass… ever see those older model, big screen, rear projection TVs on the side of the road, at the dump, or in the “free” or “curb alert” ads? Excellent source of compact, VERY powerful magnifying glasses. There’s three in each one. Scrap the screen, find the housings in the bottom, pull them out and crack them open. The housings are tubular and designed like camera lenses with multiple plastic lenses near the ends, but in the middle there lies a high quality glass lens. Not the most durable as they scratch fairly easily, but they’ll start a fire even with pretty extensive scratches. I made some felt lined leather cases for mine, but simply kept them wrapped in a swatch of old flannel shirt and secured with a hairband until I made the cases.

As a wilderness survival guide, I often am called upon to differentiate wilderness survival from primitive living. Often times these two are lumped together as one, but in fact they are distinct. Wilderness survival refers to the actual experience of survival in the wilderness, which may or may not be a primitive experience depending on the gear you have access to. Wilderness survival is usually a short term experience. Primitive Living is usually a long term experience, and refers to the experience of living in a primitive setting, practicing primitive skills for an extended period of time.

Besides the wind, water is the next major vulnerability of stick matches. But neither wind nor water are a match (pun intended) for these amazing matches. I routinely display UCO Stormproof matches to my survival students, striking the large matches and then dunking the burning match in a bowl of water. To the surprise of my onlookers, the match bursts into flame again after being lifted from the water. These matches come in a bomb-proof watertight container with replacement striker strips and even a bit of cotton to keep the matches from rattling around, and to serve as emergency tinder.

It begins with looking within. It is all about who you are being. Consider the psychology of survival. Sure, most people die from exposure to the elements, but what is happening inside those people that led to their death? In short, they freaked. They strayed away from a calm center.

If you cannot stay where you are until someone finds you, do not just pick a direction and start walking, even if you have a means of ensuring that you continue to go that direction. Instead, try to go either uphill or downhill. Going uphill offers a good chance that you will find a vantage point, which can help you get your bearings. If you go downhill, you will probably find water which you can follow downstream; in many cases, this will lead you to civilization. But don’t follow water downstream at night or in fog as it may go off a cliff. Never go down into a canyon. Even if there’s no risk of flash flooding, a canyon’s walls can become so steep that the only way out is all the way through it. What’s worse, if there is a stream in the canyon, it may turn into a river with time, forcing you to turn around.

These, along with oak bark are rich in butyric acid that combats the effects of diarrhoea, among other things. Additionally, you can make medicinal tea by brewing them in hot water. The tea alone will help you fight intestinal problems like dysentery and cholera. You can also use the tea to help treat mouth ulcers. This tip also applies to blackberry leaves. They have less butyric acid than acorns but they will help as well.

Excellent list I have most of them on the list. The Army Manuals I have in hard copy. One great thing about serving in special operations is that you have open access to all the field manuals that you can carry. I agree with every one on the list. Great post.

Have you ever been on a hike admiring the great views, gazing up at the tips of the trees, listening to the rustling of the leaves… and suddenly found yourself completely alone and lost? Naturally, the situation would give way to some level of panic and concern for your safety. While being lost in the woods can be a frightening experience, surviving alone in the wild is generally a matter of common sense, patience, and wisely using the gifts that nature provides. If you want to know how to survive in the woods, just follow these steps.

Ensure that you have a backup of your backup! The rate of something failing is high in the wild. If you don’t have a backup, you be in trouble. So, if you are carrying waterproof matches, take flint and steel set as well.

CBS’s Survivor has become one of the most watched television shows in America. One of the reasons for this show’s success is that there is an adventurer in all of us and since we all cannot be in a survival situation we like to live vicariously through the people on the show.

Flint and steel are probably the oldest tricks to start a fire. All you need to do is strike the flint against the steel to make a spark. You can buy portable steel, and Flint sets cheap these days. You should probably invest in one of those; they cost less than your morning cup of coffee! And coffee isn’t going to save your life!

Over the past several years, the Remington group, or the group that owns Remington, haven’t had a very good track record with new firearms. As a matter of fact, it has been one failure after another, in my humble opinion. We had the Remington REM380, and it had a lot of problems. Then, there was the R51, and I’m not totally convinced they have worked out all the bugs in this one just yet. And Remington took over manufacturing Bushmaster AR-15 style rifles. I had an early Remington “Bushmaster”, and it wouldn’t group at 25 yards; it patterned like a shotgun, no matter what ammo was used. Then the grand ol’ 1911, that was one Remington used to make during WW2. The early, new model guns were a failure. They would shoot loose inside of a couple hundred rounds. I kid you not.

As a wilderness survival guide, I have mentored many people in the art and science of wilderness survival. I love the answers beginners give to this question. Water! Nope. Food! No way. Fire? Nada. Shelter! Wrong again. A good knife? Definitely not.

This tip may sound silly, but trust me, it helped me a lot on camps. I have a small knife that I always keep in my survival pack. Unfortunately, the knife is brown and black in color. If I drop it accidentally on the floor of the jungle, I waste valuable minutes finding it.

This device is fully operable with only one hand. There are spring action needlenose and standard pliers as well as wire cutters, two knife blades one straight the other serrated, 4 screwdrivers including one Phillips head, 1 saw blade, 1 strap cutter, oxygen tank wrench, can opener, bottle opener and a cleaning rod attachment. All the blades and tools lock in place and are composed of stainless steel. The whole crazy intricate multi bladed multi-tool is only four and a half inches in length, making it a bargain for survivalists. This nifty device which might one day save your precious life, can be found in retail stores or online for around 80 big bad bucks.

Don’t panic if you’re lost. Panic is more dangerous than almost anything else, because it interferes with the operation of your single best, most useful and versatile survival tool: your mind. The moment you realize that you are lost, before you do anything else, stop. Take a deep breath and stay calm. Before you act, follow the tenets of the acronym STOP:

First you’ll need to find water. Water flows downhill, encourages vegetation, and collects in natural caches, be they ponds, lakes, rivers, springs, rock depressions, or even leaves. Unfortunately, most fresh water sources are not pure enough to drink from (as they used to be), so you’ll need to know how to purify water under most situations. Use any of these methods to collect clean, purified water:

One of the things a person will learn in U.S. Special Forces survival training is that squirrels, rabbits, and other small mammals can make a quick meal. In the wilderness, all you need to know is how to read the ground around you and recognize areas that small mammals are likely to travel. Then set up a number of small, simple traps around the area (dead falls, snares, etc) and simply wait for traps to spring.

There are many different situations that could lead to a survival scenario, and any of them could happen to you. Or maybe your car has simply run out of gas on a desolate stretch of wintery road. The question isn’t whether you could find yourself alone or stranded in a potentially life-threatening situation. Tampons are almost as useful for surviving in the wild as condoms—and as weird as that sounds, it’s not even a little bit sarcastic. A tampon has four basic parts: a plastic tube, cotton wadding, string, and an airtight wrapper. For a quick DIY fishing bobber, open the wrapper at one end, take the tampon out, then tie the wrapper closed with a bubble of air inside.

If you need the help of a compass but you don’t have one, you can use an analog watch to do that. Point the hour (short) hand at the sun and draw two imaginary lines between it and the 12 o’clock point. You will create an angle between the two lines. Draw an imaginary straight line bisecting the angle. The line point away from the sun is north, because the sun always goes to set in the west direction.

All of these are great ideas, and I have mirrors, flares, a beacon, and walkies myself. But there’s one thing I’d add to the list: Hunter Orange or safety vests. Lightweight and compact, never runs out of batteries, highly visible, hard to lose, and needs very little ambient light to be visible. I have an 18″X18″ square of hunter orange with an “X” of reflective stripe sewn on. Imagine a day-glo confederate battle flag, and you likely have the right mental image.

YouTube censorship has taken an ugly turn.  Not long after the tech giant announced that their censorship agenda was because of overzealous new employees, Mike Adams (The Health Ranger) lost his entire channel consisting of 1700 videos.

The common stereotype that preppers are selfish, lone wolf hoarders who have given up on the world is just plain false. Some preppers even go as far as to say the reason they prep is to be able to help others. From our blog post covering the top motivations among liberal preppers, a leader from

Other small kits are wearable and built into everyday carry survival bracelets or belts. Most often these are paracord bracelets with tools woven inside. Several tools such as firestarter, buckles, whistles and compass are on the exterior of the gear and smaller tools are woven inside the jewelry or belt and only accessible by taking the bracelet apart.

This knife has a 3.5-inch blade crafted from Sandvik 12C27 stainless-steel. The blade sits in a rubberized handle, which contains the hidden fire starter rod. The Swedish FireSteel firestarter is one of the best quality ferrocerium rods on the market. The cascade of 5,400°F sparks is plentiful and easy to strike, making it great for everyday campfire starting and survival purposes alike. Altogether, the knife, spark rod, and sturdy plastic sheath only weigh a little over 4 ounces. They are available in several color choices—I recommend the orange, red or pink color for safety and visibility.

YouTube censorship is getting really noticeable in recent days, and honestly, it should bother everyone.  Now, Alex Jones is saying his channel Infowars is one strike away from a YouTube ban with 2.2 million subscribers.

The suggestions for the kit looks great, however I think you need to get your basics together first, fire making, shelter, first aid, food, and water, for at least 3 days, then weigh your kit. Now see how many pounds are left before you hit your maximum load which is going to vary for each person. Remember if your buggin out this isn’t a Saturday afternoon hike in the park where after three hours or so you thrown your pack in the car and go home. It’s going to be with you day in and day out.

There are a ton of plant species in the wilderness. Many of these plants have excellent medicinal properties. Crab apples, for instance, have an astringent effect that can help heal wounds. Pine resin has an excellent antiseptic property. If you can find eucalyptus leaves, you can burn them to get rid of mosquitoes and other bugs around your campsite.

A compass is also an item of critical importance when traveling in the woods. You can point your compass in the direction of the city or wherever you are embarking from, and remember the direction the compass’s pointer points in. That way, if you’re lost in the woods, all you have to do is turn around until the compass points in the correct direction, and then follow your way back.

I enjoyed your article, made me consider a few things I hadn’t thought of. I know we live in different countries but #12 should be #1. The human race is ugly…period. I’ve seen it in Hurricane Katrina, Mt. Penetubo eruption and 27 months in combat in the middle east…You need weapons and a solid team of like minded people, otherwise your whole list of goodies gets taken away and you get killed or worse. In England…my first priority would be “borrowing” some real weapons from your military/police people, whether they like it or not…..here is the U.S. I already have that base well covered. In SHTF remember the “Golden Rule”…….”Do unto others BEFORE they do unto you”. Because they are going to try….thanks for the food for thought. Cary Kieffer

I love these things. This WetFire product is very lightweight, easy to ignite, and it has a long burn time. Each cube weighs just .16 ounces and is capable of burning up to 10 minutes at temperatures around 1,300°F. They work in wet and windy conditions with ease. They even float and keep burning, even while floating in water. I’ve been bringing these little waxy cubes out for show-and-tell during survival classes for several years, and I’ve always observed impressive results in the field, regardless of the weather. In my most recent tests, a cube burned for 9.5 minutes on a very damp day—twice the burn time of the homemade alternative (Vaseline-soaked cotton balls). The flame was also much taller than the petroleum jelly on a cotton ball. Several spikes from the WetFire cube were 9 or 10 inches tall, which is twice the height of the flame from a greasy cotton ball.

When it comes to Survival Life, it may be the case that “no news is good news,” but we can’t be sure. While we weren’t able to locate many online customer reviews during our research, here some of the positives we encountered:

Is there some type of assistance to help people or does that not exist and equate these sites to the banking industry as they gave people promise of loans and tricky Mtgs that vanished as fast as their jobs. Basically- if you don’t have $ then you to shall perish ? Its not to far from the truth for many people in todays USA and other countries. Just looking for some hope along with the knowledge these sites give. Thank you, one american for many

It turns out that many of us have some serious misconceptions of what it’s really like to live through a martial law situation. I asked Selco, who has personally been through it, to clear up the myths and tell us what it’s actually like.

Sure, if survival was the sole purpose of life, why would nature evolve intelligent life forms. Bacteria or algae or other such primitive life forms survive just fine. I think that  intelligent beings have more chances of surviving against the unpredictable changes in nature unlike primitive life forms which are specifically adapted to a particular environment.

The problem with recommending a backpacking tent for survival is that good ones can be expensive; on top of that, tents are built for recreational use — not for long term use should you find yourself in a time of disaster and having to live off the land for possibly several weeks or even months.

The Credit Card Knife is perhaps Survival Life’s biggest namesake. This small knife starts out about the same size and weight as a traditional credit card, but unfolds in seconds into a fully functional knife. It features a surgical steel blade, protective hand guard, and even a built-in safety sheath to keep it from becoming dull, and from accidentally opening in your pocket or pack.

In a situation where there is a moderate to severe societal collapse, such as extensive civil unrest or major natural disaster (Katrina situation maybe?), and you have to scavenge for supplies, possibly with lesser regard to law; look at the billboards! Many of them are topped with solar panels about 3’X3′. And you’ll KNOW they also have the wiring and battery packs on board.
Having a well-stocked emergency kit in your car is a good place to start if you’re taking a road trip. If you’re camping or hiking, you’ll want some survival supplies in your pack. On the following pages, we’ll walk you through the 10 items that should go in every survival kit.

Any clue as to how much this would all weigh, should one have to carry the items on thier backs? This is a fairly large list, and some of the items could be this, OR this, OR this… A few things to add or coment about:
Our Premium Survival Kits for any disaster contain enough emergency survival food, water and supplies to last each family member for at least 72 hours. An idea on one area that I seem to run into a lot of contention from some people with: electronics. If you’re bugged in and can power them, good for you. If you’re mobile, ditch ’em (most of them). Batteries seem lightweight, but that two pounds of batteries become 40 pounds after 20 miles. Anything that can’t be charged or operated on solar or hand cranks, in my opinion, has no place in a back pack. And of the things that can, many are simply unnecessary. Chromebook for maps, manuals and documents? Get a good smart phone with high capacity storage or OTG storage capabilities with multiple flash drives. Half the weight, just as versatile, twice as mobile. Not to mention, easier to pack.

I bought this knife just because I was placing an order for some other items with BUDK and figured another $3, can’t go wrong. Well, it turned out to be one of my favorite knives. It came razor sharp out of the box. The sheath is worth more than $3 alone. The blade fits very nicely in the sheath. I have seen similar products to this one for many times the cost. But, there is no need to spend more than $3. This knife is perfect for hiking, backpacking etc. I have had this knife for 3 years, and have been very rough on it just because I know I can replace it for $3 if I need to. But, I haven’t done any damage to the knife or the sheath during all of the heavy usage. With this knife you have only $3 to loose and solid utility/survival knife to gain. Just buy one.

Cell Phones: While cell phones are still not 100 percent reliable in the backcountry, service coverage and the usefulness of smartphones has increased dramatically in the last seven years. While cell phones are still questionably reliable in the backcountry, many adventurers will carry them anyway as they also serve as light cameras and can help with GPS and electronic compass navigation. Today, most of them also work as a flashlight. Regardless, they are worthless if the battery is dead, so plan accordingly.

In common words, the goal of human existence is to scramble for power and wealth.  Human society is just a stage for race, or competition. To the losers, competition is very cruel. Competition causes a lot of stress, so not everyone likes competition. If you give up, others, including your parents, will look down on you, and tell you that you are useless. Therefore, every one of us born in this society is forced to take part in the competition. Why is human society a stage for competition? Because human beings have needs. The first need is oxygen, and then the needs for food, water, clothes, housing and transportation are followed. All these things are not free, have limited supply, except oxygen. Nobody can survive without food, water, clothes and house, so, people feel unsafe, and then they desire for all these. This desire is limitless. Even if someone has gathered enough wealth for the rest of his life, he still wants to collect more for his children, even his grandchildren. The result of limited resources plus limitless desires is competition.

It’s a good idea to have a compass with you at times, but if not then what? Get old school and use the stars– it’s a lot easier than you think. Also, keep note of rivers, paths or mountains- following these can lead to roads and civilization.

A survival kit is a package of basic tools and supplies prepared in advance as an aid to survival in an emergency. Civil and military aircraft, lifeboats, and spacecraft are equipped with survival kits.

Beyond PLBs, Smith said a survival kit should include items like a map of the area, a compass, a space blanket, first aid, a flashlight or headlamp, and fire-starting supplies. He recommends keeping the essential stuff physically attached to your body in a pouch on your belt.

One tool I keep in all my survival bags is a small folding brush saw. I originally bought one at my local hardware store for de-limbing some small trees on my property line. I found that for cutting brush, limbs, even small trees it’s quicker requires less effort and is much quieter than any bladed tool I have. It’s also inexpensive, lightweight and fits easily in the side pocket of any backpack I own.

Whew, the list AND comments is extensive. I’d add Entertainment next to Electronics. Lightweight and small boardgames such as checkers, dominoes, the old fashioned pick-up-sticks or jinga could be used during powe outtages or when one uses up all the batteries, and crayons (multiuses).

Anything with both the words “multi” and “tool” in it is worth having a look at. There are a great many options for multitools – focus on weight and practicality when looking. Are you going to really NEED the one with the allen key and corkscrew? Stick to the basics of a straight blade, saw, and can opener (like this one here) and add what few other options you see fit. Some bonus items that are rarely thought about are a magnifying glass and USB stick. These come on some multitools and can be used to start fires and store important family records, respectively. If you want to learn more about choosing the right multitool for survival, you can check out our article here.

What was once used as a supplementary survival item by firefighters and servicemen, these bracelets are now a must have for outdoor adventurers. Once you’ve begun to stockpile survival gear, it can be hard to determine what you’re missing from your list. As a result, we’ve taken the time to create as much of a comprehensive list of all the different types of survival gear as possible.
Want to a fire started fast after falling in a river? An Orion hand held flare will burn for approximately 30 minutes, even in the wind and rain. Pop the flare and arrange sticks, bark, and branches (even if they’re damp) over the top. At 30 minutes of burn time, that is plenty of time to ignite a pile of damp tinder and kindling.
When things go wrong in the wilderness, you have one priority; Survive! The Henry Arms Survival Kit was built with that goal in mind. This survival kit, built to fit into a pack or cargo pocket, contains the most needed items in sufficient quantities to handle just about any wilderness survival application. Versions of this kit are currently in use by numerous organizations, to include the U.S. Army.
I don’t know if this has been shared or not, but Penicillin and Amoxicillin should be included in the list of medicines, along with cephalosporin (Keflex). All of these I believe can still be found over the counter as farming supplies. Be careful, however, as the dosage for humans will be majorly different than that on the label. I would suggest getting a dosage chart for each antibiotic.
After giving thought of how I could help more, I couldn’t think of much I could do, and then I noticed my Marine Corps Survival Straps bracelet lying across from me on our living room table. Immediately I knew I had to give this to Anthony. It may not be pulled apart and used as a tourniquet or some other physical life saving technique, but I knew that there has to be some other spiritual force that would work. “This is a Survival Strap, this is a Marine Corps Survival Strap!” I told myself. “This little boy is going to

You’re much less likely to need the heat generation survival gear if you live in a desert state or a place that typically does not get cooler weather. That being said, this type of gear can still be helpful in case of climate change or especially cold nights.

At the push of a button, PLBs from companies like ACR Electronics Inc. transmit your position via GPS coordinates and the 406 MHz radio frequency to search-and-rescue centers, who may be able to then start a search process within minutes.
But you shouldn’t put this intel advantage in the hands of electricity or battery technology. Instead, get a hand crank radio so you can generate your own power on demand. Crank for a few minutes, and you’ll be able to tune into any available intel being broadcast over the radio waves.
Maybe you are starting to see paracord bracelets as often as I see them. This creative cordage storage option has been around for a while, but it really seems to be catching on recently. And with good reason. These bracelets are a handsome looking excuse to carry a piece of Military Spec 550 cord everywhere we go, making it a great every day carry item.

I’m sorry, but 1 million a month is bullshit – it seems highly unlikely, especially given the fact that they are using this website to promote their business as digital marketers. If you’re making 1 million a month in an untapped niche, you’d be insane to be broadcasting to the world how well you are doing, let alone be selling guides on how to replicate their success. I was expecting to see their website riddled with affiliate links and reviews and such – but all I really saw were ads here and there. Given their traffic levels, I’d imagine they make 5k-25k at most.

We’ve received a lot of reader questions asking us how to prep for diabetes over the years. How many? I couldn’t possibly count. It’s a lot, and not all from preppers who are themselves diabetics either. We get a number of concerned relatives who are emailing because they …

Hey Abdul, thanks for that. That’s a good read but I don’t think that business they talk about was SurvivalLife. I think it was simply a product they bought which then they integrated with SurvivalLife or it gave them the inspiration for SurvivalLife. I could be wrong I don’t know the ins and outs of it.

An elderly man is suing two federal government agencies for Constitutional rights violations. The rancher claims that both agencies trespassed on his property and installed cameras on his trees without his permission – but the icing on the cake was when they threatened to arrest him.

Fernando “Ferfal” Aguirre is unique in the sense that he has lived it (and is still living it). Easily pulling in our number 8 spot, Surviving in Argentina is about one man’s experience in a post economic-collapsed country and how he has had to adapt to the challenges and changes that came about. His insights provide a great model whereby many North Americans (and Europeans) can prepare for an impending economic collapse on their own soil.

The Cox model assumes that the hazards are proportional. The proportional hazard assumption may be tested using the R function cox.zph(). A p-value is less than 0.05 indicates that the hazards are not proportional. For the melanoma data, p=0.222, indicating that the hazards are, at least approximately, proportional. Additional tests and graphs for examining a Cox model are described in the textbooks cited.

The common stereotype that preppers are selfish, lone wolf hoarders who have given up on the world is just plain false. Some preppers even go as far as to say the reason they prep is to be able to help others. From our blog post covering the top motivations among liberal preppers, a leader from

The carbon sheets that you can get from saws have been proven to be able to withstand 22 calibre pistol bullets. With just a bit of duct tape and some proper attachment, you can create armour around your backpack and clothes that will protect you from shrapnel, arrows, and certain types of bullets. They’re bendable, snap proof, and pretty darn useful. There is a caveat though, Carbon steel will rust and is not stainless steel.

When the sun hits the tarp, the air trapped inside the hole heats up, which in turn evaporates the moisture in the dirt. As that moisture rises, it will condense on the underside of the tarp and run down to the center—the lowest point. A cup or bowl on the floor of the hole right below this point will catch the pure, distilled water as it drips down—potentially saving your life.

For the example data, the log-rank test for difference in survival gives a p-value of p=0.0653, indicating that the treatment groups do not differ significantly in survival, assuming an alpha level of 0.05. The sample size of 23 subjects is modest, so there is little power to detect differences between the treatment groups. The chi-squared test is based on asymptotic approximation, so the p-value should be regarded with caution for small sample sizes.

Rey, send me an e-mail at distributedliving@yahoo.com and I will send you a download for free, if you read it and think I’m just riping people off, delete the book, and tell every one you meet not to buy it. If you think my efforts are sincere, paypal me the $15.

The tiny house movement continues to gain momentum, and it’s not crazy-hard to understand why. While moving into a 200- square- foot home is a huge change if you’re used to living in a 1,000- or 2,000- square- foot residence, there are many benefits to tiny house living. If you are looking to seriously downsize, review why a tiny house might be exactly what you need.

A simple “Do it Yourself” net that can be made out of any type of cordage or string. This net is awesome as a gill net for fishing, a net for trapping birds and can be used as a makeshift bag to hold items. Make it with para-cord for a net that can be used …

Don’t worry about those questions. Instead take action and educate yourself on survival techniques. Nature is unforgiving and you must be prepared to fight to stay alive. The contents of this website are taken from actual US Army training manuals, this is the same material used to train the best army in the world. You will not find a more complete resource on Wilderness Survival. So prepare yourself because one day you may need it.

As we’ve covered in the past here on Listverse, there are approximately one billion ways you could die. Nuclear the robopocalypse—heck, just a simple camping trip gone wrong could leave you trapped in the merciless grip of nature’s fury, with nothing but your own wits and the questionable advice of this list to get you out alive.

I read SurvivalBlog daily and SHTFPlan occasionally. along with a few others. Your list turned me on to yet others of which I had previously been unaware. Thank you for that. With all this good info available, one could spend their entire waking hours reading prepping sites and gathering information. So here’s my question: If you spend all your time reading about prepping, when do you find time to actually do anything?

There are a ton of high-quality flashlights out there. A high-quality flashlight is one of the first things that goes into my survival kit. Invest in a good quality light as it can save your life in a difficult situation.

Since we’re bloggers ourselves, we decided it would be unfair to throw our own sites into the mix (we are of course biased!), but if you’d like to check out our survival sites besides this one, you can take a look at them here:

It’s a massive list for those who’d like to check their own self-made kits off in comparison to something comprehensive – to see if there’s anything they’ve missed that they may have wanted to take if only they’d remembered it.

Housing prices in the United States continue to rise at unprecedented rates forcing many into poverty.  This worsening epidemic is explained well in a video by The Money GPS and it’s been engineered this way.

Sorry Ohio. I’m on my IPhone and didn’t see your response before I replied. Have at it. If you get tired part way through, let me know and I can give you my email and take over for the last half 🙂 I’m one of those kids with teachers for parents. I had no choice but to be an “editor” 🙂 🙂

However, you must be careful if you decide to consume wild plants, fruits or flowers. Some of these plants can be very dangerous and even poisonous if consumed. There is no definite way of telling whether a plant or fruit is toxic or not just by looking at it.

In some cases alternative partitions give more accurate classification or quantitative estimates. One set of alternative methods are tree-structured survival models, including survival random forests. Tree-structured survival models may give more accurate predictions than Cox models. Examining both types of models for a given data set is a reasonable strategy.

Never climb a tree and sleep there. Many people think that it is a good idea to climb a tree to sleep there for a while. There is a greater chance of you falling from the tree in your sleep that you might think.

His first novel was a work of speculative fiction set in a near future including hyperinflation and socioeconomic collapse. Initially titled: Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse, and later re-titled: Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse. The book was originally released in draft form as shareware[34] under the title Triple Ought in the early 1990s. It was released in a printed edition by Huntington House. After Huntington House went out of business, the book was re-released by Xlibris, a print on demand publisher. Starting in April 2009, the novel was published in a paperback edition by Ulysses Press. It was updated to include a glossary[35][self-published source] and index.[36]
