Survival gear isn’t just a necessity for adventurers in the deep wilderness. It’s an insurance policy in which every outdoor enthusiast should invest. By carrying the supplies to provide for your own needs, you’re ready in the event that you get caught in an emergency in the wild. And if that emergency never comes—you still have some cool and useful toys to enjoy. Before your next excursion, check out my favorite wilderness survival items—and consider whether they’re a good fit for your own needs.
Emergency food bars, preferably products with 2,400 or 3,600 calories and contain no coconut or tropical oils to which many people may have an allergic reaction, in addition to non-perishable food which does not require cooking or refrigeration
Over the past few years, especially, we get one to two stories a day, but one that stands out was from a soldier named James Little, who always wore two Survival Straps. He was a sniper in Iraq, and his hideout spot was taking fire from insurgents. He was hit in the leg with shrapnel, and was bleeding pretty badly, so he unraveled one strap and tied it around his leg to make a tourniquet, and then used his other one to tie up some of the rubble around him as more cover. He credited us to helping save his life while he was at war. We relay that message to all our craftsmen, that you don’t know who is going to be wearing that bracelet, so we are ridiculous with our quality.
On a budget European trip with his wife, Tim Leatherman found he never had the right tools for quick fixes from roadside breakdowns to faulty hotel plumbing. Because what he needed didn’t exist, he returned to the United States to build the multi-tool he wanted. Eight years and many rejections later, he finally had a tool he was proud of. And in 1983 with the first order of 500, the Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. was born.
Survival Power: Your fitness level to climb and descend and your ability to recognize and tie good anchor points relies solely on practice — without prior knowledge or practice, using a belay device to rappel is dangerous.

If you’re ever in a life-and-death survival situation, then securing a source of food is going to be one of your top priorities. You can hunt, sure, and you can gather berries (provided you know how to gather actual edible berries), but nothing is going to keep you going quite like trapping an animal. For that purpose, you can use a paracord snare trap. The trap is easy to learn and as low-budget as low-budget gets, yet it’s surprisingly effective.
The communications equipment may include a multi-band receiver/scanner, a citizens band (CB) radio, portable “walkie-talkies” with rechargeable batteries, and a portable battery-powered television. The power supplies may include a diesel or gasoline generator with a one-month fuel supply, an auto battery and charger, extension cord, flashlights, rechargeable batteries (with recharger), an electric multi meter, and a test light. Defense items include a revolver, semi-automatic pistol, rifle, shotgun, ammunition, mace or pepper spray, and a large knife such as a KA-BAR or a bowie knife.
I don’t know if this has been shared or not, but Penicillin and Amoxicillin should be included in the list of medicines, along with cephalosporin (Keflex). All of these I believe can still be found over counter as farming supplies. Be careful, however, as the dosage for humans will be majorly different than that on the label. I would suggest getting a dosage chart for each antibiotic.
Same as EVERYONE else (except the 1 tool that posted a 5 star & probably works there!). I ordered the everstryke match. $ gone, no product. Emailed & called. Empty promises & bullsh!t. This company is a HUGE SCAM. BEWARE!!! BBB gave them an “F” rating.

We all experience hardships. Some people get through them with greater ease than others because of their attitude and choices. Their mindset propels them forward. They don’t let suffering run their lives and they work through the hard times, even when everything is falling down around them and they can’t seem to get a break.
If you’re planning on getting rescued, or if you’re at all interested in navigation, communication, or really any way of knowing what’s happening in the outside world after the shit hits the fan, you might be interested in adding a few of the survival gear items below to your stockpile. Though not every survivalist/prepper will be interested in staying connected if the SHTF, if this is important to you, make sure you have a way to do it!
Freeze-dried food may fail you, especially if someone robs you for whatever food you have. A good survivalist will always have a “plan B” for feeding yourself and your family. Two products listed below will help you do just that. (Hint: These products make hunting easier, especially for beginners).
I am doing a research project for school, and one of the things I’m doing is finding some of the survival items that might have been used by the ancient Greeks. Though a lot of the items listed here are modern, I found this website to be a huge help!

The company’s news release says: The Active Edge Technology essentially involves the embedding of selected frequencies into products. The frequencies are produced from a commercial power source that utilizes a proprietary delivery system to embed the frequencies into any material. This process is performed in a proprietary secure work environment that has been specifically prepared to enable the embedding of this technology.
This sounded vaguely like what a TENS unit does. I had one prescribed for back pain by a physical therapist several years ago. TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator and is an electrotherapy device that emits tiny doses of electric current to promote pain relief. It never did much for me but it’s not quite the same as using radio waves.
We take emergency food supplies seriously. You never know when a disaster will hit and your disaster preparedness kits will come in handy for your survival. Or what if you lose your job and need to rely on your food reserve units. If you have never considered building your emergency food storage in Utah or around the country we want you know know the reasons why it is so important.
Probably, the number one tool (if you don’t have access to a backhoe, would be the lowly shovel for putting corpses into the ground to prevent the spread of disease. Yes, I suspect a LOT of folks will die from disease and toxic shock from injuries improperly treated.

Maybe 25k a month is too low of a figure, but a million per month just reeks of a scam. If this was a website that stood by itself I’d be less skeptical, but given that it’s being used as a proof of concept for online marketers who want to sell you the guide for creating your own version of it, I just can’t see how their claims are true.
Our Survival Tools and Sharps Category is one of our most popular selections of survival equipment.  It includes high quality survival knives and survival tools, very popular to survivalists and outdoor enthusiasts alike.  It includes items like the Genuine Issue KA-BAR Marine Knife to Leatherman tools to the Made in the USA Spiral Wire Saw, one of the best Survival Wire Saws in production today.
Good old duct tape, where would the world be without it? Duct Tape can be used as an emergency bandage, to secure a splint, to reinforce or repair waterproofing, as a rope replacement for shelter building, and taped over sore spots to prevent blisters.
The TIME Magazine Invention of the Year winner uses a microbiological purification filter, and comes at a more than reasonable price as well, so it’s accessible not just for the hardcore camper but for everyone who wants it.
A survival kit is a basic item for those that frequent the outdoors. Designed with the outdoorsman in mind, the Henry Arms U.S. Survival Kit has just one purpose; to save lives. Many kits that “claim” to be survival kits include low quality items which should not be trusted to function when they have to. The Henry Arms U.S. Survival Kit includes identical items to those included in military and government survival kits. Whether you are trying to stay warm, signal for help, treat wounds or simply last through the night after an emergency in the wilderness, the Henry Arms U.S. Survival Kit is a great way to stay prepared.
I can appreciate the flexibility of the Sawyer system, nice tip about the gravity fed filter hack! I really do like the Lifestraw for casual rambling in the wilderness based on size and weight (check out my review). Thankfully in Canada fresh water is never really an issue! 😉
